Yerba mate is a genetic cousin of cassina, and the most popular beverage in Argentina and other parts of South America. Yerba mate is not only naturally caffeinated, but full of theobromine, which leads to a slow and steady caffeine buzz. Aficionados refer to the caffeine in yerba mate as "matteine", and the plant can be brewed just like green tea, or drank traditionally from a gourd or "mate".
It contains 25 vitamins and minerals, 15 amino acids, as well as a number of antioxidants.
Enjoy yerba mate hot or cold and perk up your day!
